FAQs

How quickly can I expect my coffee?

While shipping time may vary depending on location, bags typically ship within 3-5 days of each order. Once shipped, we will provide you with shipping information to track your beans all the way to your doorstep!

How fresh is Swamp Cat Coffee?

Each bag ordered is roasted that day, just for you. Swamp Cat does not store or shelve any roasted coffee - ensuring the most fresh beans money can buy and taste buds can taste. Each bag is also equipped with a one-way degassing valve to release all the CO2 and other volatile gasses Coffee releases after being roasted.

How long does the coffee stay fresh?

The coffee in your Swamp Cat bag will remain fresh for about 2-4 weeks after you receive it. That being said, there are a number of factors which impact how long it will last including, whether it is ground, the darkness of the roast, and the conditions it is stored. To ensure freshness the best practice is storing whole bean coffee in an air-tight container in a dark place at room temperature.

What Grind Size should I get?

The proper grind size will be based on your typical method of brewing coffee. If you have a grinder at home, Whole Bean is always the best way to go to ensure freshness. Standard grind is ideal for someone looking to make a pot of drip coffee, or use a standard pour-over method. Coarse grind is best for those who regularly make cold brew or other immersion brew methods. Espresso grind is for... well... espresso. If you are unsure, Standard is your best bet unless you have a grinder at home (which we recommend).

What is a "Single Origin" Coffee compared a "Blend"?

The term "Single Origin" refers to the location where the beans were grown and harvested. A single origin bean means all the beans are coming from the same farm or region within a given country. A "Blend", is just the opposite. A blend means there are a number of beans from many different locations around the world, combined into one bag. A blend is meant to bring complimentary flavors together to create an experience, while a single origin allows you to break down the specific flavors and qualities on one specific location. There is no wrong answer as long as you enjoy what you're sipping!

How do I know which coffee is right for me?

Experiment! That's the fun part - you get to figure out exactly how you like your perfect cup of coffee. We provide Flavor Profiles for every bag so you have an idea of what to expect. Some are more acidic (think "bright" or "tangy") while some are more soft (think "nutty" or "chocolaty"). From there you can find a bag for you. Then, once you've received your beans you can do some research on different brew methods and join us down the rabbit hole!
